80% Lower Builds / Re: New Build
« on: July 27, 2017, 09:02:52 PM »
New frontier lower fits the new 80% arms jig without issue. Since calibers in the ar15 size all should be identical in the areas that matter for this jig, I see no issue with them fitting.

Thanks for that follow up. Still waiting on my jig but that's good to hear. JoeBobOutfitters is having a slight sale on their New Frontier Armory 80% lowers and I wasn't sure if they would fit that jig.
They fit with PLENTY of room.
This jig looks like it will alleviate the anodize damage that happens with the gen 1 easy jig. Nothing touches the side to get those chips buried.

New Frontier definitely has some nice stuff.

Posting my non-universal easy jig for sale tomorrow. Had been contemplating it, as I would have to modify it to work on my lower, but this makes it a definite matter.

80% Lower Deals / Re: Decent price on 308 kits

When I posted, it was a 15% code in the pop-up.
The guy that had one said he got a 15% off as well.

Might be one of those places that has constant sales.

80% Lower Deals / Decent price on 308 kits

Pricing on these looks very fair.

~$535 for the 80% lower, lower build kit, and assembled upper...

I have no affiliation with this company. I was shooting with someone yesterday that had one of the rifles (he used an Aero lower because he didnt have the machining tools)

Any issues getting the lower centered after that cutting? And did you just dremel that all off?

I have the OG 80% Arms jig (non-universal). I just ordered a New Frontier 80% billett lower (anodized).
I know that the jig wont work as-is, and needs modification.
Should I go through the trouble of cutting the 80% Arms jig or hawk it and go get the Modulus Arms setup?

For cutting, does anyone have photos of how much material I need to remove?

Contacted New Frontier today because I love their billet uppers, and wanted a matching lower. I was told that the anodized version can be ordered, but they only do them by request for $15 more. 4-6 week lead time.
I am going to Cerakote it, but wanted the magwell finished so I dont have to try to spray it.

Could always try it with the Modulus Arms Jig.  They claim it will fit brand lower.  I'll update once I get a chance to try mine on my New Frontier Lower.
I would rather modify my easy jig. My wife will execute me in the street if I spend much more... :D

Anyone completed one of the 80% lowers from New Frontier? I really like the features they have, just wondering how the fit is in the jig.

Im putting a rifle together now with one of their stripped uppers (well, actually a JBO Spartan_ same thing) they're pretty nice.
